Terms of Use
Last updated: September 14, 2026
1. About These Terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Grid Association website and its homeowner information and inquiry services (collectively, the "Services"). The Services are operated by Grid Association ("we," "us," or "our").
Please read these Terms before submitting an inquiry. Where we ask you to accept these Terms, selecting the acceptance control and submitting your request indicates your agreement. If you do not agree, do not submit a request through that process. You may contact us using the details below with questions.
Our Privacy Policy explains our information practices. Our Contact Consent / Messaging Terms and the notices accompanying our forms explain communication choices. Acceptance of these Terms does not, by itself, constitute consent to marketing calls or text messages.
2. What Grid Association Does
Grid Association is a private information and referral business that helps homeowners explore electrical and home energy projects.
Our Services provide information about electrical repairs, panel and service upgrades, electrical safety inspections, battery storage, solar, generators, and EV charging. Where service is available, we help connect homeowners with participating contractors.
Grid Association does not perform installation, repair, inspection, engineering, or construction work. We are not a government agency, utility, lender, or contractor, and we are not affiliated with any government agency or utility.
References to "programs," "eligibility," "availability," or similar terms on our website describe informational or inquiry processes unless expressly stated otherwise. They do not mean that Grid Association administers public benefits or determines qualification for government or utility programs.
3. Who May Submit an Inquiry
To submit an inquiry, you must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into an agreement in your jurisdiction.
You must provide accurate contact and project information and be authorized to request information about the property identified in your inquiry. Do not provide another person's contact information or consent to communications on their behalf without appropriate authority.
Submitting an inquiry does not establish ownership of a property or authorize a contractor to enter the property or begin work.
4. Inquiries and Local Availability
When you submit an inquiry, we review the information you provide, including your ZIP code and project type, to assess possible next steps and local contractor availability.
An inquiry is not:
- A confirmed appointment or accepted contractor quote.
- An agreement to purchase equipment or services.
- An application to a government agency, utility, or lender.
- Confirmation of incentive eligibility.
- A guarantee of approval, funding, savings, or project completion.
The ability to submit an inquiry from a location does not mean that a participating contractor serves that location. Availability may depend on the project, contractor capacity, licensing requirements, property conditions, and other factors.
If service is unavailable, we will explain that outcome. If your inquiry is retained on a holding list, retention will follow our Privacy Policy and the notice provided to you. Placement on a holding list does not guarantee future service or authorize unrestricted future marketing.
We do not promise a particular response time unless we expressly provide that commitment for your inquiry. Technical interruptions or incomplete contact information may delay processing.
5. Contractor Referrals and Your Decisions
A referral introduces you to a participating contractor for further discussion. It is not a guarantee that the contractor will accept the project, offer the lowest price, or achieve a particular result.
Our referral service does not represent every contractor or offer available in your area. You remain free to compare providers and obtain other quotes.
Before authorizing work, review the contractor's identity, applicable licenses and insurance, written scope of work, pricing, payment schedule, permit responsibilities, cancellation terms, and warranties.
Any contract for installation, repair, inspection, equipment, or related work is a separate agreement between you and the provider identified in that contract. That agreement governs the work, payment obligations, scheduling, and applicable warranties.
Grid Association does not have authority to accept a contractor's quote or authorize work on your behalf merely because you submit an inquiry.
Nothing in these Terms removes any responsibility Grid Association has under applicable law for its own statements, conduct, or referral activities.
6. Fees and Contractor Services
Grid Association does not collect payment from homeowners or receive compensation from contractors for referrals.
If you choose to hire a contractor, the contractor will provide a separate quote and agreement. Any payments for contractor services are arranged directly between you and that contractor.
7. Project Information, Costs, and Incentives
Website articles, service descriptions, cost ranges, and other educational materials provide general information. They are not a property inspection, electrical diagnosis, engineering assessment, or individualized legal, financial, or tax advice.
Actual project costs depend on factors such as location, labor, equipment, permits, existing electrical conditions, utility requirements, and the scope of work. Published examples or estimates are not binding quotes.
Incentives may change, expire, reach funding limits, or apply only to specified projects, locations, equipment, ownership arrangements, or applicants. A contractor referral or inquiry confirmation does not establish eligibility.
Before making a purchase or relying on an incentive, confirm current requirements with the program administrator and obtain professional advice where appropriate. Grid Association does not guarantee incentive payments, tax benefits, energy savings, utility bill reductions, or equipment performance.
8. Electrical Safety and Emergencies
Our website and inquiry forms are not emergency services and are not intended to provide real-time safety assistance.
Do not use a website inquiry to report an immediate electrical hazard. If there is an immediate threat to life or property, contact emergency services. Contact your utility where appropriate for utility-related hazards.
Website content is not a substitute for an assessment by an appropriately licensed professional. Do not undertake electrical work based solely on information published on this website.
9. Communications and Contact Choices
Submitting an inquiry allows us to process your request as described in the notices accompanying the form and our Privacy Policy. Any communications must remain within the permissions you provide and applicable law.
Where separate consent is needed for marketing calls, text messages, or automated or prerecorded communications, that consent will be requested separately. The relevant disclosure will explain the businesses and communication methods covered.
Agreeing to these Terms does not provide blanket permission for every participating business to contact you by every available method. Marketing consent is not a condition of purchasing goods or services.
You may request that communications stop by contacting us using the details below or by using the applicable opt-out instructions in a message. For marketing emails, use the unsubscribe link. For text messages, reply STOP where supported. You may also communicate your withdrawal through another reasonable method recognized by applicable law.
Withdrawal does not invalidate communications lawfully made before the request. We will handle requests within the applicable legal requirements. A marketing opt-out does not prevent communications that are otherwise legally permitted, such as a necessary response to a new request you initiate.
If a contractor contacts you under permissions provided directly to that contractor, you may also contact that business to manage your preferences.
10. Privacy and Information Sharing
Our Privacy Policy describes the information we collect, the purposes for which it is used, the recipients or categories of recipients, retention practices, and available privacy rights.
A request for assistance does not independently authorize the sale or disclosure of your personal information. Any disclosure must comply with applicable notices, permissions, and legal requirements.
Please do not include Social Security numbers, payment card details, passwords, or other unnecessary sensitive information in general inquiry fields.
To submit a privacy request or ask about the handling of your information, follow the instructions in our Privacy Policy or contact us below.
11. Information and Materials You Submit
You are responsible for ensuring that information, photographs, documents, or other materials you provide are accurate to the best of your knowledge and that you have permission to share them.
You retain any ownership rights you hold in materials you submit. You give Grid Association limited permission to receive, store, and use them as reasonably necessary to process your inquiry, consistent with our Privacy Policy and applicable permissions.
Submitting project information does not grant us unrestricted rights to publish your name, photographs, or project details in advertising. Any such use requires a separate appropriate permission or other lawful basis.
Do not submit material that infringes another person's rights, contains malicious software, or is unlawful.
12. Acceptable Website Use
You may use the website for lawful purposes consistent with its information and referral functions. You must not:
- Submit fabricated inquiries or impersonate another person.
- Attempt to access private submissions, internal systems, or information without authorization.
- Interfere with website security or disrupt its operation.
- Upload harmful code or use forms to distribute spam.
- Collect personal information from the website for unauthorized solicitation.
- Copy or use our branding in a way that falsely suggests endorsement or affiliation.
These restrictions do not prohibit honest reviews, lawful criticism, reports to regulators, or other legally protected activity.
13. Website Content and Intellectual Property
Content owned by Grid Association or used with permission remains the property of the applicable rights holder.
You may view and print website materials for your personal project research and share links to public pages. Other reproduction or commercial use requires permission unless applicable law allows it.
Do not remove ownership notices or falsely claim that Grid Association endorses your products or services. References to other businesses, products, or marks do not transfer rights in those materials.
To report a suspected intellectual property infringement, contact us with the location of the material, a description of your concern, and your contact information.
14. External Websites and Resources
We may link to contractor websites, program administrators, educational resources, or other external services.
Those websites have their own terms and privacy practices. Review them before submitting information or entering into a transaction. An informational link does not by itself establish an endorsement, affiliation, or guarantee of the linked content.
15. Availability and Warranty Limitations
We aim to provide useful, accurate information, but website content may contain errors or become outdated. The website may also be temporarily unavailable for maintenance or reasons outside our reasonable control.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the website and general informational resources are provided "as is" and "as available," without implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or noninfringement.
This provision does not override an express commitment we make to you, excuse misleading representations, or exclude a warranty or obligation that cannot lawfully be excluded.
16. Limits on Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Grid Association will not be liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of, or inability to access, the website or general informational resources.
This limitation does not exclude or restrict liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, or any liability that applicable law does not allow us to limit. It does not waive available statutory remedies or nonwaivable consumer rights.
Your rights concerning contractor work also depend on applicable law and your agreement with that contractor. These Terms do not release a contractor from its obligations.
17. Changes to Services and Access
We may update website content, modify available features, or discontinue a feature. We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to address security risks, unlawful activity, or material misuse.
A restriction on website access does not cancel your privacy rights, erase an existing legal obligation, or change a separate contractor agreement.
18. Questions, Complaints, and Disputes
Please contact us if you have a concern about the website, an inquiry, or our referral process. Include enough information for us to identify the issue, but avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information.
You are not required to complete an informal complaint process before exercising a legal right. Nothing in these Terms prevents you from contacting a regulator, filing an eligible small-claims case, or seeking relief in a court with jurisdiction.
These Terms do not require mandatory arbitration or waive your right to participate in a class action.
Applicable federal and state law governs these Terms. Nothing in these Terms deprives you of nonwaivable protections available under the laws applicable to you.
19. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms to reflect changes in our Services or legal obligations. The revised page will identify its effective date and last update.
For material changes, we will provide notice appropriate to the change and obtain renewed agreement where required. Changes will apply prospectively and will not retroactively alter an existing dispute.
An update to these Terms does not expand marketing consent you previously provided.
20. General Provisions
If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. A failure to enforce a provision on one occasion does not waive the right to enforce it later.
These Terms and any additional service terms expressly accepted by you govern your use of the relevant Grid Association Services. They do not replace separate contractor agreements or eliminate mandatory legal rights.
Grid Association is a private company and is not affiliated with any government agency or utility.
21. Contact Grid Association
For questions about these Terms or your inquiry, contact Grid Association using the contact methods published on our website.
