Accessibility Statement

Our Commitment
Grid Association is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. We aim to follow widely recognized accessibility standards and to improve the experience for every visitor on an ongoing basis.
Accessibility is treated as part of our normal design and development process rather than a one-time project, and we review the site periodically as content and features change.
Conformance Status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for making web content more accessible. This site aims to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
We consider the site to be partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content may not yet fully meet the standard. We have not completed a formal third-party accessibility audit; where we identify gaps, through our own review or through feedback, we work to address them.
Measures We Take
Steps we take to support accessibility on this site include:
- Using semantic HTML structure, headings, and landmarks so the page can be navigated with assistive technology
- Providing text alternatives for meaningful images
- Labeling form fields and marking required inputs
- Designing for keyboard navigation, including a visible focus indicator on interactive elements
- Building a responsive layout that adapts to different screen sizes and zoom levels
- Respecting the operating system's reduced-motion preference for animations
- Reviewing color contrast for text and interface elements
Known Limitations
We are aware of the following areas that may present barriers for some users, and we are working to improve them:
- Some third-party components embedded in the site, such as mapping and analytics scripts, are outside our direct control and may not fully meet the standard
- Older articles and long-form content have not all been re-checked against the current standard
- Some interactive components may not yet provide the ideal experience with every combination of browser and assistive technology
Feedback and Contact
If you encounter an accessibility barrier on this site, or you need information from this site in a different format, please let us know. We welcome your feedback and will make reasonable efforts to provide the information or resolve the issue.
When you contact us, it helps to include the web address of the page, a description of the problem, and the browser and assistive technology you were using.
