Frequently Asked Questions

Is Grid Association a government agency or a utility?

No. Grid Association is an independent, privately held company. It is not a government agency, a public utility or utility commission, a lender, or a licensed contractor, and it does not administer any incentive program. Its role is to explain the programs that exist and, where relevant, connect homeowners with independent licensed contractors.

Does it cost anything to check my eligibility?

No. Reviewing which federal, state, and utility programs may apply to your home is provided at no cost and with no obligation to move forward.

Which programs might I qualify for?

It depends on where you live, your household income, your utility, and the type of project. Programs can include federal rebates such as the Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates (HEAR/HEEHRA), state rebate programs, and utility incentives. Availability and amounts change over time and vary by location, so specific figures should always be verified with the program administrator.

Are federal tax credits still available in 2026?

Several residential clean-energy tax credits (25C for efficiency improvements and 25D for solar and battery) ended for property placed in service after December 31, 2025. The federal EV charger credit (30C) ended June 30, 2026. Rebate programs funded by the Inflation Reduction Act, along with state and utility incentives, may still apply. Because this area is changing, confirm current rules with a tax professional and the official program sources before relying on them.

Do you install equipment yourselves?

No. Grid Association does not perform electrical, solar, battery, generator, or EV-charger work. When a project makes sense, we connect you with an independent licensed contractor. Any agreement for work is strictly between you and that contractor.

Which areas does Grid Association serve?

Grid Association accepts program eligibility inquiries from homeowners in all 50 states. Program availability, incentive amounts, and contractor coverage vary by location, and not all programs or services are available in every area.

How is my information used?

The information you submit is used to review program eligibility and, if you choose to proceed, to coordinate an introduction with a licensed contractor. See our Privacy Policy for details on how data is handled and how to opt out of contact.

What happens after I submit the form?

A representative reviews the programs that may apply in your area and contacts you to discuss options, usually within 1–2 business days. If you qualify and want to continue, we coordinate an introduction to a qualified local contractor.
