Messaging Terms and Conditions
Last updated: September 14, 2026
1. About These Messaging Terms
These Messaging Terms and Conditions explain participation in Grid Association's text messaging program. Grid Association is a private information and referral business that helps homeowners explore electrical and home energy projects. These terms apply to text messages sent under the Grid Association brand.
The messaging program is operated by Grid Association.
Please read these terms together with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. The enrollment disclosure explains the types of messages you are choosing to receive.
2. Messages You May Receive
Depending on your request and the permissions you provide, Grid Association may send messages about:
- Confirmation that we received your inquiry.
- Questions about your electrical or home energy project.
- Local service availability.
- Follow-up information related to your request.
- Responses to questions you send us.
If we offer promotional messaging, enrollment will explain that purpose and request the applicable permission. Agreeing to receive inquiry-related updates does not automatically enroll you in unrelated promotional campaigns.
3. Choosing to Receive Text Messages
Participation is voluntary. You enroll by completing the text-message consent process presented by Grid Association. That process identifies the sender, the purpose of the messages, and the telephone number to which messages will be sent.
Providing a telephone number alone does not constitute consent to recurring promotional messages. Where messages are sent using automated technology, the enrollment disclosure will describe that use and request any consent required by law. Consent to marketing text messages is not a condition of purchasing goods or services.
What our enrollment checkbox says
On our eligibility and homepage forms, this is the consent language you check:
By checking this box, I agree to receive marketing calls and texts from Grid Association at the number provided, including via automated technology. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out.
On our contact form, submitting the form indicates the following:
By submitting, you agree to be contacted by GridAssociation regarding your inquiry.
Checking the box or submitting the form is your electronic signature indicating agreement. We record the disclosure version shown, the date and time, and your selection at submission — the current disclosure version is 2026-09-11-r3.
4. Scope of Your Permission
Your messaging permission applies to Grid Association and the purposes described when you enroll. It does not give unrelated businesses permission to send you marketing messages. Any separate messaging relationship with another business must be supported by its own appropriate disclosures and permissions.
Agreeing to these messaging terms does not, by itself, authorize marketing telephone calls, prerecorded voice messages, or other communication methods.
5. Participation Requirements
You must be at least 18 years old and authorized to use the mobile telephone number you provide. Your device and wireless service must support text messaging. Availability may vary by carrier, device, and location.
Do not enroll another person's number without appropriate authority.
The messaging program is intended for United States mobile numbers.
6. Message Frequency
Message frequency varies based on your inquiry, responses, and the messaging options you select. An active conversation may involve several messages as we clarify your request. Enrollment in any recurring promotional program will identify its expected frequency or explain that frequency varies.
We do not treat an unanswered inquiry as permission for unlimited follow-up.
7. Message and Data Charges
Message and data rates may apply according to your wireless plan. Contact your carrier for information about its charges. Grid Association does not charge a separate fee to participate in its text messaging program.
Any charges for contractor services are governed by your separate agreement with the contractor.
8. How to Stop Messages
You may withdraw your permission to receive text messages at any time. Reply STOP to a Grid Association text message to request that messages stop. You may also contact us through the contact methods listed on our website or otherwise clearly communicate that you no longer want messages.
We recognize other reasonable methods of withdrawing consent as required by applicable law. You do not need to use a particular word if your request clearly communicates your choice.
After an opt-out, you may receive one nonpromotional message confirming the request. We process opt-outs within applicable legal requirements.
An opt-out will not be treated as permission to switch you to another number or campaign to continue the same unwanted messaging.
9. Rejoining the Program
If you previously opted out and would like to receive messages again, complete a new enrollment process or provide a new, clear permission through an approved method. Visiting our website again does not automatically reactivate your enrollment.
A new request for assistance will be handled according to its context and the permissions you provide.
10. Getting Help
Reply HELP to a Grid Association message for messaging support. You may also use the contact details on our Contact page.
A HELP request alone does not unsubscribe you. If you want messages to stop, reply STOP or clearly tell us that you wish to opt out.
11. Changes to Your Telephone Number
Please notify us if your enrolled number changes or is no longer yours. Where possible, opt out before canceling or transferring the number.
If you receive a message intended for someone else, reply STOP or contact us so we can update our records.
We will not treat a previous user's permission as consent from a new holder of that number.
12. Privacy and Messaging Information
Our Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled. Permission to receive Grid Association messages is not permission for another business to use your number for its own marketing.
Please do not send Social Security numbers, payment card details, passwords, or unnecessary sensitive information by text.
13. Delivery and Service Limitations
Text messages may be delayed, blocked, or undelivered because of network coverage, carrier filtering, device settings, or technical interruptions.
Do not rely on text messaging for urgent assistance or time-sensitive safety decisions. Grid Association's messaging program is not an emergency service. If you face an immediate threat to life or property, contact emergency services. Contact your utility where appropriate for utility-related hazards.
To the extent permitted by law, wireless carriers are not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages. Nothing in these terms excludes responsibility or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
14. Project and Incentive Information
Messages are intended to assist with your inquiry. A text message does not establish eligibility for an incentive, approve funding, guarantee savings, or confirm contractor availability unless an authorized provider expressly confirms the relevant service arrangement.
Grid Association does not perform installation, repair, or inspection work. Any contractor quote or service agreement is separate from enrollment in messaging.
15. Changes to the Program or These Terms
We may update these terms or modify the messaging program. Updated terms will show a revised effective date. Where required, we will provide notice of material changes and obtain new consent before expanding the purposes or methods covered by your existing permission.
A change to these terms does not cancel an opt-out or automatically enroll you in additional messaging.
We may discontinue the program, subject to any existing legal obligations.
16. Your Legal Rights
These terms do not require mandatory arbitration or waive your right to a jury trial or participation in a class action. Nothing in these terms prevents you from submitting a complaint to a regulator or exercising rights available under applicable law.
If part of these terms is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
